Frequently Asked Questions
Display reads "Software missing"
Software missing is an indication that something in the low-level base software that runs the device during the boot process has been overwritten, or failed to update catastrophically.
Why does this happen?
This is most commonly seen when a user has plugged in their device and sees this message:
And then clicks on "Scan and fix (recommended)"
If this is the first time you are seeing this message, please click on Continue without scanning.
Microsoft, in its wisdom, errs on the side of caution, and recommends you 'scan and fix' which then proceeds to break things, not fix them.
Please create a Support Ticket and this will be remedied for you quick smart.
