Frequently Asked Questions

*** Warranty Information
The Australian Consumer Law {aka Competion and Consumer Act 2010 - Schedule 2}  protects consumers by giving them certain guaranteed rights when they buy goods and services. For example, the Law requires that goods must be free of defects, and do what they are meant to do. Services must be carried out with care and skill. These rights, which the Law says automatically apply whenever goods or services are supplied to a consumer, are called ‘Consumer Guarantees’.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and failure does not amount to a major failure.

D
epending on the price and quality of goods, consumers may be entitled to a remedy after any manufacturers' or extended warranty has expired. In that circumstance, we recommend you contact the manufacturer's customer assistance department.

Even though the manufacturer's warranty may have expired the manufacturer is not only best suited, but is obligated to assess the nature, cause and extent of a failure or fault if you have reason to believe there has been a breach of Consumer Guarantees. If at any time you are not satisfied with the manufacturer's remedy in relation to your statutory rights then contact your local/state business trading office for assistance.

What does the consumer warranty cover?
Consumer products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase.
Within this period, the manufacturer will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components that fail in normal use. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to the customer for parts or labor, provided that the customer shall be responsible for any transportation cost.

What doesn't the consumer warranty cover?
(i) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents;
(ii) consumable parts, through wear and tear, such as batteries, watch straps and heart rate straps, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
(iii) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes;
(iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorised service provider of Wahoo;
(v) damage to a product that has been modified or altered without the written permission of Wahoo; or
(vi) damage to a product that has been connected to power and/or data cables that are not supplied by Wahoo.

In addition, the manufacturer reserves the right to refuse warranty claims against products or services that are obtained and/or used in contravention of the laws of any country.

Repairs

Repairs have a 90 day warranty. If the unit sent in is still under its original warranty, then the repair warranty is 90 days or to the end of the original one year warranty, depending upon which is longer.   Replacement devices provided as a repair option will only have a 90 day warranty, unless stated differently in the paperwork or Support notes.
