Frequently Asked Questions

What is my warranty ?

The Australian Consumer Law
{aka Competition and Consumer Act 2010 - Schedule 2} protects consumers by giving them certain guaranteed rights when they buy goods and services. For example, the Law requires that goods must be free of defects, and do what they are meant to do. Services must be carried out with care and skill. These rights, which the Law says automatically apply whenever goods or services are supplied to a consumer, are called ‘Consumer Guarantees’.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and failure does not amount to a major failure.

epending on the price and quality of goods, consumers may be entitled to a remedy after any manufacturers' or extended warranty has expired. In that circumstance, we recommend you contact the manufacturer's customer assistance department.

Even though the manufacturer's warranty may have expired the manufacturer is not only best suited, but is obligated to assess the nature, cause and extent of a failure or fault if you have reason to believe there has been a breach of Consumer Guarantees. If at any time you are not satisfied with the manufacturer's remedy in relation to your statutory rights then contact us for assistance.

What does the consumer warranty cover?
Consumer products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.
Within this period, the manufacturer will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components that fail in normal use. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to the customer for parts or labor, provided that the customer shall be responsible for any transportation cost.

What doesn't the consumer warranty cover?
(i) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents;
(ii) consumable parts, through wear and tear, such as batteries, and straps, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
(iii) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, improper installation, water, flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes;
(iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorized service provider of Stages USA LLC;
(v) damage to a product that has been modified or altered without the written permission of Stages USA LLC; or
(vi) damage to a product that has been connected to power and/or data cables that are not supplied by Stages USA LLC.

In addition, the manufacturer reserves the right to refuse warranty claims against products or services that are obtained and/or used in contravention of the laws of any country.

Replacement devices
Where these are provided as an option, the replacement device will have a 180 day warranty, unless stated differently in the paperwork or Support notes.  The replacement device may be a refurbished unit, or a unit using refurbished parts.

Warranty replacements will have a 6-month warranty. If the 6 month warranty ends before the end of the original 24-month warranty period, they are still covered by the original 2-year warranty.

For customers that are unable to obtain the proof of purchase, the manufacture date of the crank (as identified by the serial number) will be used as the start of the original 24 month warranty period.

Any warranty/failure claims after the 2-year period will not be covered by warranty, unless the said Stages is a replacement provided during the 2 year warranty period and still has a remaining warranty up to the 6 month period for replacements.
